The Princess of Light[]

A very common story told to children at bedtime or spun by bards at taverns and street corners is that of the Princess of Light. It's difficult to find someone who hasn't heard of this story and if they haven't it's very likely they don't speak common. What people don't know, is that the Princess of Light is a true story to some extent, or at the very least, a real person.

The Common Story[]

Long ago, a beautiful Star fell to the Earth, landing so deep that none could see its light. Many knew of this a sought out the Star, but it was impossible. A great Storm had coiled himself around the Star, blocking out even the Lights of the Sky. Many adventurers and knights of the kings have gone to rescue the Star and return her to her rightful place amongst the Lights of the Sky, but all have been lost to the Storm's thunder.

Often, the story at this point will shift to a hero outsmarting or overpowering the Storm and freeing the Star, but it varies from story-teller to story-teller.

Aurora and The Storm[]

The Princess of Light is actually a very young (300 yrs old) Scara Fey by the name of Aurora. She was created by the Storm using the Orb of Light aka the Star Engine by turning the Light key while he was still figuring out how to use it. She is actually a small sliver of the Star within the engine, thus allowing her to be a being of light (Scara Fey) and the ability to freely shift between forms. Her power and light can grow uncontrollable should she become overwhelmed or aggressive.

Aurora was raised as the Storm's daughter and truly loves him as her father. However, she has been stuck within the realm of the Storm for 300 years and has grown rather bored. She wishes to go and see the world, but the Storm forbids it claiming that she is still to naive and irresponsible. In truth, the Storm knows what would happen if she were to leave his domain. It would be the end of the world. (See BBP)
