The Bad Guy[]

The Hunger[]

(See Creation Myth) With the creation of the new Dark Master, some darkness managed to slip through the cracks of transfer. This darkness was a single Nox, who very quickly took on a humanoid form (note). Unlike Aria, this Nox has little sense of good, but is very good at faking it. They are sly and cunning under their sweet and diplomatic exterior, which is nearly impossible to break.

The Big Bad, as we'll be calling them here, will use the party while making it seem like they are allies. They'll convince them with out a shadow of a doubt that what they are doing is for the betterment of the world. Whether or not that is true is up for the players to decide.

The Big Bad's Plot[]

Over view[]

The Nox only really want one thing: to consume the light of the world, specifically that of the Skara Fey (see the princess of light). However, as far as the world knows, the Skara Fey have been dead for ages, and so the goal of the Big Bad has shifted. Rumors of the Orb of Light have reached ears all over Eklain and Izben, and that sparked an idea. Of course taking something from the Storm would spell certain death, and there's no way in the 9 hells that he'd part with it. So, why not just make another?

The main plot is to convince the party to find and collect specific magical or enchanted items that mimic the abilities of the ord. The bow of Light from the merfolk, a sliver of jewel from the destroyed palace in Alma Esari, and similar such items are all on the list. Once the Big Bad has these items they'll discard the party by sending them to the Vault of the Forgotten and sealing them in. Then they'll begin creating the Engine.

The only true linch pin in this plan is the Princess of Light herself, Aurora. In order for the engine to work, Aurora's light must be consumed, essentially killing her. Once she is gone however, the Big Bad would be all powerful. Not even the the Storm could touch them. With her light gone, the Light of the original Engine would start to diminish, displacing an immense amount of magic. With this displacement of magical power, all drakes and dragons would be drawn to the source to stop whatever is going on. However, in the presence of absolute magical light, the Nox's darkness and hunger only grows.

The end goal would be to consume the world, thus leaving nothing but the Darkness and the Void.
